Pro Runner Jordan Hasay is Embracing Marathon Training

After winning collegiate national championships in the mile and 3,000-meters, Jordan Hasay spent the first few years of her professional career training for longer 5,000- and 10,000-meter races. Now the record-setting runner is shooting for an even greater distance race, embracing her new training and everything that comes with it.

Hasay is preparing for her first 26.2 mile race at the Boston Marathon in April by increasing her training mileage, getting stronger and adding even more BiPro to her diet.

“My coach and I will have a certain pace I will try to stick to, which will be determined as it gets closer to race day,” Hasay said. “Since it’s my first marathon, I just want to do my best and make the most of the opportunity.”

Depending on her workout schedule, Hasay runs up to 25 miles in a given day on top of strength training and stretching. She’s also incorporated more cross training work in the pool, all designed to make her stronger. That way, she’ll be able to hold up for all 26.2 miles.

Increased running mileage during marathon training has Hasay burning more calories than ever before.
